About a week ago I was watching the local news here in Oregon and within 10 minutes they did three different stories and the common theme? Being offended. One group was upset and offended by one person’s word, another person was offended by anothers word and as the same with the third story. It just hit me like a ton of bricks. When did we as a nation become so soft that using our first Amendment Rights were wrong? We make up laws that state we can’t say anything racial because it’s racial. We can’t speak of some one’s sexual orientation. Talking about politics and religion is also wrong and if someone is blunt with you, your rude. At some point we are going to wake up and not be able to say a darn word in fear of going to jail or be sued.
It’s amazing how we can’t talk about so much but it’s okay to swear in public. To damn the Lord and look down on a person for speaking their mind. We are a nation of people that are always so offended. When did we get such a thin skin? How are we so righteous? No wonder so many countries laugh at us. Us as a super power? Seriously? I love my country. I am disappointed with the people in this nation. This country was built on blood shed. And if it wasn’t for that, the British would own us. We would be bowing to the Queen. But instead we are a nation of ignorance. Everyone has an opinion. So little education. And yet, everyone is offended at least once a day.
